It is extremely important to provide the student with a wide range of cultural options in a diverse, multi-cultural society such as South Africa. Some of the options available include Drama, Music, Dance and Practical and Creative Arts.
Drama
We introduce Drama in the pre-primary phase; it is compulsory up to Grade 9 and optional from Grade 10 - Grade 12. Drama enhances student self-esteem, self-assurance and creativity, giving each student the ability to express him or herself fully, to communicate and interact with confidence.
Music
Music is introduced in the pre-primary phase and is compulsory up to Grade 3. It may be taken up to Grade 12 as an optional subject. We enrich the program with specialist teachers in strings, brass, piano and percussion, amongst other options.
Dance
Students are introduced to Dance/Creative Movement in the pre-primary phase and it may be taken as an optional subject to Grade 12. At BCC campus, Bedfordview Dance/Ballet starts from Grade 4.
Visual Arts and Design
We expose students to various aspects of the visual arts and other creative crafts. Visual Arts options include design, drawing, painting and sculpture - to name a few.
The cultural program further extends to Art Exhibitions, Musical and Dramatic productions, Soirees, Fashion Shows, Public Speaking, Debating, Theatre and Film clubs, Chess, Photography, Young Historians (not available at Reddam Bedfordview), Wild Life clubs, to mention a few and various dance forms.
